Quick word to make sure everyone saw Paul Lamere's tag explorer.

Mark Levy (Last.fm) presented at ISMIR his work on tempo estimation using crowd-sourcing. And most of his songs have a clear match in the MSD!

We now provide the mapping of The Echo Nest track IDs to Rdio IDs for half of the tracks, thanks to B. McFee!

We just announced the release of an official Last.fm dataset linked to the Million Song Dataset.

And we opened a page for all MSD-related events: ISMIR '11 MSD page.

Paul Lamere is preparing is own tutorial on map/reduce and the MSD. And since it's Paul, he blogs about every step of the way.

We wanted to advertise the Big Learning workshop at NIPS.

Paul Lamere, (one of Echo Nest's masterminds, and co-creator of the Million Song Dataset) is proposing a panel at South by Southwest.

It's finally there for all of you map/reduce lovers (if you've heard of Disco or Dumbo or Mahout you know who you are), the Million Song Dataset has been added to the AWS public datasets!

Once in a while, a paper comes out that is ambitious, yet simple (to read, certainly not to do it first), and overall just very very cool! And when the experiments could perfectly fit the MSD, it gives me a reason to blog about it. So, how do Google researchers learn everything about music at once?
